Curaçao Gaming Authority Ends Licensing Portal Operations After Data Breach

The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has confirmed that its online licensing portal will not return to service following a major data breach. The platform had been operating since September 2023.

The decision follows a September 2026 incident in which hacker Lilith Wittmann publicly released more than 40,000 documents obtained through unauthorized access to the portal the previous year.

In an official statement on October 7, 2026, the CGA announced plans to move away from the existing platform and terminate its related service agreements.

The regulator confirmed that the closure will not affect existing gaming licenses, operator obligations, or its regulatory responsibilities.

Temporary Licensing Arrangements Under Development

The CGA is preparing alternative arrangements to maintain licensing, compliance, and supervision activities while an interim solution is introduced.

The regulator had indicated that further details would be provided by October 9, 2026, but no additional information had been released at the time of the report.

The authority also plans to introduce a new method for operators to verify that their domains are licensed, as the current digital seal will be affected by the shutdown.

Meanwhile, the CGA continues working to contain the data leak and protect its regulatory systems and information.
