Lithuania Brings Online Gambling Data Into LAKIS System
Lithuania is expanding its gambling monitoring system to include data from remote operators. The move gives the Gaming Control Authority, known as LPT, more tools to check activity across the regulated market.
LAKIS was first created to collect information from land-based gaming machines. Operators use electronic systems to send machine details, operating data and meter readings to the regulator. LAKIS can automatically check this information against set rules and identify possible errors.
Updated LAKIS rules took effect on May 1, 2026. The system now also covers information from remote gambling platforms. Its reporting and analysis tools allow the authority to manage indicators, create reports and review data through business intelligence software.
Lithuania introduced technical requirements for remote gambling platforms in 2025. Licensed operators must use certified systems that centrally identify and register players. These platforms must also record player actions, bets and winnings.
The rules are designed to protect the accuracy of gambling records and reduce the risk of data being changed or misread. Lithuania has also linked the expanded system to responsible gambling and anti-money laundering checks.
The reform creates a direct data chain between certified operator platforms and the regulator. It allows LPT to monitor compliance through ongoing information flows instead of relying only on inspections and regular operator reports.
