Switzerland Expands Gambling Blacklist to 3,567 Domains
Switzerland’s Federal Gaming Board (ESBK) has expanded its list of blocked online gambling websites to 3,567 domains.
The latest update was published on August 25, 2026 and is the regulator’s third blacklist update this year. The list covers online casino websites that operate in Switzerland without the required approval.
Internet service providers in Switzerland must block access to domains included on the list. Users trying to open these websites from within the country may instead see a page explaining that the gambling service is unauthorised.
Swiss players are not committing a criminal offence by using an unlicensed gambling website. However, the ESBK warns that they play at their own risk and do not receive the protections available through regulated operators.
The ESBK supervises Switzerland’s land-based and online casino sector and is responsible for action against illegal casino gambling. Gespa separately oversees areas including sports betting, lotteries and other large-scale gambling products.
Switzerland opened its regulated online casino market in 2019. Online licences are available to existing land-based casino operators that receive the necessary federal approvals.
